Action Media Hire is proud to be the Founder and Lead Partner of Bury's much loved festive annual fundraiser.
The Santaceptor C.I.C.
The Santaceptor is an annual Christmas fundraising event that takes place in Bury, Greater Manchester. It is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who work hard to make the event a success each year. The project’s main attraction is a TV and Film Police Car from Action Media Hire, which is decorated with hundreds of festive lights and broadcasts festive music from its roof-mounted PA speakers. The car is not only eye-catching, but also creates a festive atmosphere as it drives around the borough.
The star of the show is Father Christmas, or as we know him PC Claus, who drives the Christmassy-themed police interceptor around Bury to distribute 2,000 chocolate treats to local children. This not only brings joy to the children during the holiday season, but it also helps improve their perception of the police. For many children, this may be one of their first engagements with a police car, and by having a positive experience, they are much less likely to express anti-police views in the future.
The project also collects donations which raise funds for local charities, such as Bury Hospice that provides care and support for people living with a life-limiting illness. The Santaceptor was established in 2020, and since then has become an annual event. The project combines the joy of Christmas with a positive engagement between children and the police, and makes a difference in the community by spreading holiday cheer and supporting a worthy cause. The dedication and commitment from Action Media Hire and the volunteers ensures that the project runs smoothly and is enjoyed by all. The project has the support of around 20 local businesses that sponsor the project, with their funding assisting in obtaining the 2000 treats to be distributed to the children.
